BioWhat's in a name?
I go by MANY names, and it really depends where you know me from anyway. For example, if you were in Japanese class/Mori no Ike with me in high school/junior high (we had to pick Japanese names) you probably call me 恵美 (megumi), but if you were in Spanish class with me, you may know me by the nickname "Caro" (it sort of stuck ever since my Mexican host family abbreviated my name to that). I don't mind either, but Caro's close to my real name, so I'm more likely to answer to it. At my last job (I worked on the salesfloor at Target XD) they called me "Pinky" because, well, a large portion of my hair is bright pink (and glows under blacklight!!!). I wouldn't recommend using that. XD
Just how old are you anyway?
I'm a legal adult by US standards, but trust me, it's not all it's cracked up to be. XD My class-standing at USC is also sort of up in the air as I came in with too many credits to be a 1st semester freshman back when I entered USC.
I routinely am told I look a great deal older than I am. That's neither here nor there as far as I'm concerned.
So, what do you do
I'm double majoring in International Relations and East Asian Languages and Cultures (this is USC's "fancy" term for Japanese...or really any other Asian language). Studying abroad twice in high school got me interested in IR, an since I've already had 13 years of Spanish instruction, I've been pursuing Japanese in college (after previously studying it off and on for 6 or so years) to try to bring it up to the same level. I really enjoy learning languages, but I'll try to keep their use as well as strange IR terms to a minimum here. In 2009 I am going back to Japan (for a year) to finish up my regional concentration.
As far as hobbies go, I'm a music fanatic! I play the guitar and still dig my violin out every once and a while. I'm currently in an industrial rock band called Razorfuck (the name's kind of a joke--I was redying my hair leaning my head over the bathtub, a razor fell out of the shower caddy on the wall, hit me on the head, and I screamed "Urg! I've been razorfuked in the head). I'm the guitarist/bassist and do other mixing/programming/keyboard nonesense while my friend does the vocals and more of the other programming/keyboard shit. Sadly, both of us are having our asses kicked too hard by college right now to be real active.
I'll give just about any genre of music a listen, but my favorites are jrock, visual kei, nagoya kei, industrial, EBM, and alt rock. I also paint/draw/vector but don't have much time for it during the semester. I'm also a seamstress, love to design and create outlandish costumes, and I've done some cosplaying ("Myaku," "Cage," "Osaka Jo Hall," "Gauze-era," and "Tsumi to Batsu" Kaoru) but that's another hobby that have very little time for during the school year, not to mention it's quite costly. >.>

Yes. My journal is NOT friends-locked as a rule. I do lock a few entries if they are too personal/mention specific names. Also, I can't STAND immaturity. Call me a hardass, but I find it neither cute nor funny. Also, I will NOT read chat/1337 speak. Other than that, I do complain from time to time, but it's mainly about stress I guess (I'm in the honors program for my general ed. credits through my college and the program is basically run by "holier than thou" jerks). I don't really "fan-girl," but I can stand a certain amount of it. I'm not an elitist, but it's still possible to annoy me. XD
Also, I eat emo kids for breakfast on toast. Just a heads up.
